Overview of the Department
The Department of Mining Engineering, from its inception in the year 2012 had –
B.Tech. Mining syllabus is prepared in line with the syllabus of Mine Manager’s Competency Examinations conducted by DGMS which is under the Ministry of Labour & Employment (Govt. of India). The B.Tech. syllabus is regularly fine-tuned with the changing technological advancements made in mining through R&D inputs, digitalization to have safe & sustainable growth.

- Pioneered in the area of Rock Blasting & Excavation.
- The Department has good research laboratories in Geology, Surveying & Mine Planning, Rock Blasting, Mining Machinery, Slope Stability, Mine Gases & First Aid. Also uses Softwares for students and in various consultancy projects.
- Developed study material in print and electronic formats in easy-to-understand language for students.
- At regular interval organized visits to Mines, laboratories of other institutions, Mining Machinery Exhibitions, encouraged students to participate in National Mining Conferences as delegate and also as author. The Gas Testing Laboratory and First Aid Training Centre established as per Approval from DGMS and following Gazette Notifications, and the syllabus and training module.

1. To develop an academic calendar with due consideration for academic and extra-curricular activities and strict adherence to academic calendar.
2. Building up proper Laboratories and course material and education through Case Studies and IT-enabled systems for meting Sustainable Development Goals.
3. Generation of facilities for continual improvement and up-gradation in the qualification and academic domain of the faculties.
4. A time to time review of the course curriculum with the objective of updating the courses with changing time and the review for course outcomes.
5. Laying emphasis on individual assignments and project works based on analysis of the requirements of mining and also the learning ability of the students to make students employable.

We offer robust academic programs at the Diploma (Mining) and Diploma (Mining & Mine Surveying) undergraduate (B.Tech), postgraduate (M.Tech), and doctoral (Ph.D.) levels, designed to meet the evolving demands of the mining sector.
Mining Engineering plays a critical role in the economic and industrial development of our nation. At AKS University, we are committed to developing skilled and ethical mining professionals who are equipped with the technical expertise and leadership qualities necessary to drive sustainable growth in the industry.
Our curriculum is aligned with current industry trends and technological advancements. The department is supported by a team of highly qualified faculty members, modern laboratories, and strong partnerships with leading mining companies and research institutions. The Ph.D. program fosters advanced research in vital areas such as mine safety, environmental sustainability, rock mechanics, and mineral processing.
