Overview of the Department
AKS University launched India’s first 4-year B.Tech. Cement Technology program in 2012, designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia while fostering innovation. The development of this program adhered to regulatory frameworks and future-oriented educational goals. Currently, 135 students are actively pursuing their B.Tech. degrees in Cement Technology within this department.
The Cement Technology department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories that serve as centers for immersive hands-on training, allowing students to explore practical applications of their learning. The curriculum includes in-plant training and a sandwich apprenticeship component, both essential for enhancing the educational experience.
This department is distinguished by its faculty, comprised of experts from the cement industry who bring extensive industrial experience. The curriculum combines strong classroom instruction with practical insights, empowering our students to confidently contribute to cement plants and make a significant impact in the field.

To reinforce this hands-on approach, the university has introduced a 180-day on-job plant training program in the final semester of the B. Tech. in Cement Technology. Approved by the Board of Apprenticeship Training (Western Region, Mumbai), this initiative equips students with real-world experience and industry readiness.
Our distinguished faculty includes experienced academicians and professionals from the cement sector who bring valuable insights from both research and practice. The department also features a state-of-the-art, NABL-accredited laboratory and maintains ongoing collaborations with leading cement companies, ensuring our students are prepared to meet industry demands from day one.
